Locksmith Technician (Citiloc)
Job Description
Citiloc is seeking a skilled and dependable Locksmith to deliver high-quality locksmithing services across commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional environments throughout the Lower Mainland.
This is a hands-on field role. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical and high-security locking systems, while delivering exceptional customer service and representing Citiloc professionally on every job site. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Locksmithing & Service Execution (Primary Focus)
Follow Citiloc standards, policies, and safety procedures
Install, service, repair, and maintain mechanical and electronic locking hardware
Work across commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional environments
Install and service high-security locking systems, including Medeco high-security systems
Re-key, master key, and set up keying systems
Diagnose and troubleshoot lock and door hardware issues
Install and adjust door closers, electric strikes, magnetic locks, and panic hardware
Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner
Attend and participate in site meetings
Coordinate with other trades on active job sites
Customer Service & Site Conduct
Deliver a thorough, professional customer service experience on every job
Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, trades, and team members
Represent Citiloc professionally and maintain a positive client relationship
Documentation & Record Keeping
Complete work orders and service reports accurately
Maintain accurate keying records and system documentation
Provide clear and accurate documentation to the management team
Ad Hoc Responsibilities
Provide on-site support to field staff as required
Act as a technical resource for locksmithing and door hardware questions
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Education
Minimum 2+ years experience in commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional locksmithing required
Proficient with Medeco high-security systems
Critical thinking, problem-solving, and strong diagnostic skills
High-level communication skills
Thorough customer service ethic
Ability to work in a team and independently
Strong teamwork skills (a team sport background is an asset)
Computer and record-keeping skills
Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity is an asset
Punctual, reliable, self-motivated, calm under pressure, and detail-oriented
Takes pride in their work
Safety conscious
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Security Worker's License
Clean criminal record
