Job Overview
Lighthouse Keepers are responsible for maintaining lighthouse equipment, monitoring weather and sea conditions, and ensuring navigational lights function correctly to support maritime safety. Some postings are remote/monitoring-based with modern automated systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Inspect and maintain lighthouse lamps, lenses and backup power systems
• Monitor weather, tides and vessel traffic, logging observations regularly
• Report equipment faults and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the lighthouse premises
• Respond to emergencies and assist coast guard/maritime authorities when required
Requirements / Eligibility
• Willingness to live/work in remote coastal or island locations
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Physical fitness to handle outdoor and shift-based duties
• Prior experience in maritime, security or facilities maintenance is a plus
• Clear background check as required by the maritime authority
