About the Role:
The Legal Manager oversees the legal aspects of the organization. This role involves providing expert legal advice to management and ensuring compliance with legal standards and regulations. The Legal Manager coordinates with external counsel, and handles all legal disputes and contracts.
Responsibilities:
Legal Advisory:
• Provide legal advice and support to management and various departments.
• Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for the organization.
• Ensure the organization is aware of and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
Contract Management:
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Ensure contracts are in compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.
• Manage contract review and approval processes.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
• Manage and oversee litigation matters and disputes involving the organization.
• Coordinate with external counsel on litigation matters.
• Develop strategies to minimize litigation risks.
Compliance:
• Develop and implement compliance programs and initiatives.
• Conduct compliance audits and assessments.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures.
Risk Management:
• Identify legal risks and propose appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
• Develop risk management strategies for the organization.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) required; Master's degree (LLM) preferred.
• Admitted to the Bar and licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction.
• 2 to 5 years of experience practicing law, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
