Job Description

Job Title: We are hiring for two different positions at different locations;

Regional Manager - Legal & Vigilance (Jaipur - Rajasthan, Rewari - Haryana, Indore - MP, Lucknow - UP, Patna - Bihar)
Senior Manager - Legal & Vigilance (Jaipur - Rajasthan)


About Role: The role involves managing the legal function of the company, overseeing arbitration, court cases, consumer forums, and other litigations. Responsibilities include preparing suit applications, representing the company in court, supervising empanelled advocates and retired police officials, and guiding the recovery team on legal matters. The role also provides legal advice to various departments, vets and drafts legal documents, verifies judicial replies, ensures regulatory compliance, and mentors team members for skill development. As a Regional Legal Manager, the role includes investigating fraud, theft, and related incidents, submitting evidence-based reports to the FRT department, overseeing branch security, filing FIRs, coordinating with law enforcement, and assisting with insurance claims. Additional duties include handling legal matters for branches and employees, maintaining case records, customizing documentation for different states, raising alerts on suspicious activities, collaborating with the Risk Department, and conducting inspections and investigations.



Job Responsibilities:

Manage the Legal Functions to ensure efficient performance as per company guidelines.
Oversee arbitration, court cases, consumer forums, and other litigations; prepare suit applications, represent the company in court, and guide legal proceedings.
Manage empanelment and performance of advocates and retired police officials; liaise with them to expedite legal matters.
Guide recovery team in filing suits/appeals and legal proceedings within stipulated timelines.
Provide guidance on implementing applicable laws to authorized officers and liaise with the Credit Team for legal assistance.
Draft and vet legal documents, including agreements, deeds, and documents from outside agencies.
Verify replies and rejoinders filed before statutory authorities to expedite legal proceedings.
Offer timely legal advice to branches and head office departments on legal matters.
Advise on business development and NBFC operations, including vetting contracts and agreements.
Ensure submission of regulatory/statutory reports, including fraud reports.
Mentor team members for skill development.
Investigate fraud, theft, and related activities, and submit evidence-based reports to the FRT department.
Maintain and update the FRT register.
Oversee branch security matters, including money and physical security.
File FIRs and initiate legal actions as per the legal department's decisions; follow up with law enforcement and court proceedings.
Coordinate with the advocate panel and external professionals on legal matters.
Assist the head office with insurance claims and legal issues related to branches and employees.
Maintain records of all legal cases, agreements, and legal compliance in an MIS system.
Customize legal documentation for different states and ensure compliance across branches.
Raise alerts on suspicious activities and coordinate with the Risk Department on risk-related matters.
Plan and conduct regular inspections and surprise visits to sensitive locations from a vigilance perspective.
Investigate complaints from borrowers and employees.
Perform any additional tasks assigned by management.


Skills Required:

Strong drafting and analytical skills and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to keep calm under pressure, especially when there are deadlines.
Flexibility to adapt to a variety of engagement types, working hours and work environments.
English written and verbal communication skills.
English and Hindi Typing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Power Point.
Personal drive and positive work ethic to deliver results within tight deadlines and in demanding situation.
Willingness to work extensively in the field and travel across Bharat on short notice.


Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) with 3 to 5 years of experience as Regional Legal Officer/ Legal Manager with any NBFC/ MFI/ BFSI.
