Job Overview:
Housr is seeking a seasoned Legal Manager to oversee all legal matters related to commercial contracts and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal knowledge, analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including lease agreements, development agreements, vendor agreements, and NDAs.
• Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws and regulations.
Execution and Registration:
• Assist with the execution, notarization, and registration of contracts to ensure legal validity.
Legal Notices:
• Draft and/or vet legal notices and prepare responses to any legal notices received by the organization.
Legal Operations:
• Manage legal operations and liaise with external legal consultants and advisors for expert guidance.
Legal Research:
• Conduct thorough legal research and due diligence on property titles, compliance, zoning regulations, and land use issues.
Dispute Resolution:
• Support the negotiation and settlement of disputes related to real estate transactions, ensuring favorable outcomes for Housr.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, sales, and business development, to provide legal guidance and support.
Database Management:
• Maintain a comprehensive database and records of all agreements, KYC documents, and other legal documents.
Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure all contracts are updated in accordance with the latest laws and regulations.
Risk Management:
• Identify, assess, and manage legal risks across Housr's pan-India operations, implementing strategies to mitigate risks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in a legal role in commercial law or real estate, preferably with a start-up.
• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution; a Master's degree (LLM) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of contract law and relevant regulations.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Proficient in legal research and using legal databases.
