Legal Counsel | Houston, TX, USA | In-Office

A reputable transportation services company is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join their legal team. This position will play a key role in providing assistance and advice to the company's various business units and affiliates on a range ofcomplex legal and business matters including corporate, commercial, sales, MA, HR, regulatory, privacy and litigation issues.

Responsibilities:
• Provide legal support on a variety of corporate and commercial matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and business arrangements with clients, vendors, and partners.
• Ensure that company complies with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements related to transportation, environmental standards, and safety regulations.
• Advise on strategic transactions, providing comprehensive legal support through the entire lifecycle
• Manage and mitigate legal risks through the design, drafting and implementation of, or guidance related to, applicable policies and procedures.
• Facilitate compliance with various business units regarding laws, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to the business.
• Communicate with and manage third parties including but not limited to external counsel or auditors

Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction(s).
• 3+ years of experience in a corporate legal environment
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to advise senior management on complex legal issues.
