Law Clerk, Tax & Revenue (Adelaide)
Cowell Clarke is a specialist commercial law firm based in Adelaide and Sydney. We act for clients in all sectors of business and industry in Australia and internationally.
What are we looking for?
We are currently seeking applications from enthusiastic and driven law students to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a specialist practice area while developing your technical and commercial skills.
To be considered for this role, you will be/have:
A law student graduating in 2026 or later
Availability to work two consecutive days per week, commencing within the next two months
Achieved strong academic results
Highly refined analytical and research skills
Motivated, commercially astute and a team player who learns quickly
A genuine interest in tax law, with a view to developing expertise in this area
As part of the team, you will also join our Tax Academy™ Program, a structured development pathway designed to support your technical growth and career progression in tax:

What is the role?
A law clerk role with Cowell Clarke offers comprehensive training, with the aim of supporting undergraduates to ultimately become commercial solicitors with a strong specialisation in tax and revenue law.
Some key responsibilities will include:
Legal research
Reviewing, analysing and summarising documentation
Drafting legal correspondence and advice
Attending client meetings and video conferences
Collaborating with the team on technical issues
Attending networking events
What to expect
In joining our leading Tax & Revenue team you will be provided with one-on-one training and supervision by highly experienced tax practitioners. In addition to gaining broad tax and commercial experience you will also work with self-managed superannuation fund trustees and assist high net worth clients with sophisticated succession planning strategies.
