Position Description
Position Title: Laundry Attendant Evenings and Weekends
Title of Immediate Supervisor: Executive Housekeeper
Main Function: Responsible for the proper care and inventory of all hotel linens
(restaurant, banquet, kitchen, and guest rooms), uniforms, and guest laundry.
Duties Responsibilities:
Establishes a warm welcome and professional atmosphere for guests by giving ultimate service and cooperation.
Processes guests’ laundry on a timely basis.
Retrieves dirty laundry from the guest rooms and kitchen.
Sorts linens, pretreats stains, loads washerextractor.
Must know which items to dry, and what the specified drying times are for each item.
Folds clean laundry and stocks on the shelves in the proper locations.
Maintains the cleanliness of the laundry department and equipment, including scheduled cleaning of all filters.
Reviews repair levels and inventory levels of all laundered items and reports on those findings to the head housekeeper weekly.
Maintains inventory levels of laundry chemicals and supplies.
Performs minor sewing to repair items as needed.
Answers the Housekeeping Department’s telephone and takes messages, using proper telephone etiquette.
Crosstrains as a Room Attendant, Houseman, and for turndown service.
Assist in other areas of the hotel as business demands require.
Available to work flexible hours, evenings, holidays and weekends.
Able to meet a schedule that is subject to frequent changes on short notice.
Abides by and enforces all policies and procedures as set forth by the owners of Charley Creek Inn and the General Manager.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge/Experience Requirements: Basic computer skills and previous commercial laundry experience helpful. Must have the ability to follow instructions and communicate with guests and co-workers. Takes pride in self and in position and is committed to high standards.

Contacts: Hotel management and staff, hotel guests, vendors
Working Conditions: Exposed to potentially hazardous power equipment and chemicals.
Physical Demands: Must be able to tolerate some heat to the hands from the flat work presser. Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds unaided, do physical labor for eight (8) hours, and push heavy laundry carts from room to room.
