Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking 1 skilled and motivated Landscape Labourer to join our team. As a Landscape Labourer, you will be responsible for assisting with various landscaping tasks to build beautiful outdoor spaces. This is a hands-on position that requires physical stamina and a passion for creating visually appealing landscapes. This is a landscape install job, not a lawn mowing/maintenance position.
Responsibilities:
Use hand tools and power tools to perform various landscaping install jobs
Perform a variety of landscape tasks on new builds & renovating of existing landscapes
Planting of trees, shrubs, and sod
Construction of retaining walls, walkways, and patios
Installation of rock and mulch and final grading of topsoil
Performing maintenance and upkeep on tools and equipment on a daily basis
Loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment at jobsites
Transporting materials using wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting
Correctly fill out paperwork as needed
Follow all jobsite protocols and safety procedures
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient completion of projects
Maintain a clean work environment
Experience:
Minimum of 1 season of landscaping experience required.
This is a landscape install job, not a lawn mowing/maintenance position.
Knowledge of hand tools and power tools commonly used in landscape construction
Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues
Understanding how to grade topsoil for final grades
Requirements:
Steel toe work boots
Must have reliable personal transportation to and from job sites and ability to get to multiple jobsites (not all sites are accessible by bus)
Be good at problem solving and communicating with others
Ability to work long hours (up to 10 hours)
Willing to work in all weather/ environmental conditions: Rain, Cold, Heat and wind
To operate equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Ability to walk, stand, crouch and lift 50 lbs. for extended periods of time and work in all types of weather conditions (wind, rain, heat, cold)
