Salerno Pizza is looking for an enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team at one of Edinburgh's most exciting dining destinations inside St James Quarter. We're an authentic Neapolitan pizza restaurant that takes real pride in what we produce — and we're looking for someone who wants to be part of that from the ground up.
No experience needed. Just a willingness to work hard, learn fast, and take pride in what you do.
The Role
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that forms the backbone of our kitchen operation. You'll be working alongside our kitchen team every shift, learning how a professional kitchen runs and building the foundations of a genuine hospitality career.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen throughout service
- Washing and managing dishes, glassware, and kitchen equipment
- Supporting the kitchen team with basic food preparation
- Ensuring the kitchen is set up correctly before service and cleaned down properly at the end
- Learning the standards and processes that make a professional kitchen run smoothly

- Reliable and punctual — the kitchen depends on you showing up
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Eager to learn and develop
- No experience necessary — we will train you on everything from day one
