Kafka Engineer

We are searching for a person familiar with Linux Operating Systems and automation through scripting (e.g. Ansible), willing to learn Confluent Kafka, who is self-motivated and wants to expand their skills. In this role, you will be responsible for running, managing and advancing our Kafka Enterprise Platform, while collaborating with teams and projects from Germany.

How you will get the job done
• solving day-to-day support issues, incidents and problems
• working with a variety of business and technical teams to provide and enhance Kafka services
• systems and performance monitoring, including trend analysis and respective improvements
• regularly reviewing and advancing Kafka services and automation
• prioritizing and handling workload effectively

Skills and experience you will need
• fluency in English (spoken and written) and strong communications skills are a must-have
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
• 2 - 10 years years of hands-on experience Strong knowledge on the basics of Kafka, Knowledge or experience with Kafka API, Spring boot or other frameworks, knowledge or experience in setting up of Kafka Platform through CLI or Ansible, troubleshooting knowledge of Kafka issues supporting corporate users
• willing to learn Kafka technology
• knowledge of automation, scripting, CICD, and Container Platforms (or willing to learn)
• administrative experience with RedHat Linux and providing IT infrastructure services
• curious to learn as much as they can and hungry to exceed expectations
• highly self-motivated and directed
