Role Description
The Jr. Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The individual will handle day-to-day accounting functions, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable.
Responsibilities include preparing basic financial reports, supporting bank reconciliations, and ensuring accurate documentation of invoices and payments. The Jr. Accountant will coordinate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, support month-end closing activities, and assist senior accounting staff with compliance and audit-related tasks. The role requires joining within 7 days and offers opportunities to learn accounting practices within a logistics and freight-forwarding environment.
Qualifications
• Strong foundation in accounting principles, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and basic financial reporting.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software; ability to work with spreadsheets, reconciliations, and data entry with high accuracy.
• Good analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with finance and operations teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field; 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in Mumbai and join within 7 days; prior experience in logistics, freight, or transportation industry is an advantage.
• Organizational skills and reliability in meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.
