Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic - Field - TNDC

As the world's largest Caterpillar dealer, we are looking for the BEST Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics – Field (Red Seal preferred) to work on a variety of equipment supporting our customer located at Red Chris Mine. The Tahltan Nation Development Corporation or TNDC is a large contractor providing site services to a number of sites within the Golden Triangle. In this role, you will support the maintenance, rebuild, repair and trouble shooting for a variety of Caterpillar Equipment including: 745 Rock Trucks, D8 and D10 dozers, 3+5 and 34+ Excavators, and 16M3 Motor Graders, just to name a few

Job Description:
Major Job Functions
Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment in a Field environment
Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required
**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**
Specific Skills Experience
Interprovincial Journeyperson Mechanic/Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
5+ Years Off Road Mechanical Experience recommended
Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
Previous repair experience on the Caterpillar mining and general line product lines would be considered an asset

This is a site position, located at Red Chris Mine on a 14 x 14 continuous shift rotation

A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
