Short Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SQL/SSIS Lead Developer to join our pharmaceutical organization's data integration team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages to facilitate data integration, transformation, and migration processes within the pharmaceutical domain. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including data analysts, business stakeholders, and IT professionals to ensure the successful integration and management of pharmaceutical data for critical business needs.
Responsibilities
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of SSIS packages to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from diverse sources including clinical trials databases, electronic health records (EHR), laboratory systems, and external data providers.
• Work closely with business stakeholders and data analysts to understand data requirements, business rules, and compliance standards within the pharmaceutical domain.
• Design and implement complex data transformations, aggregations, and validations using SQL queries, expressions, and SSIS components.
• Develop and optimize SSIS packages for performance, scalability, and reliability, including tuning SQL queries, optimizing data flows, and implementing best practices.
• Implement error handling mechanisms, data quality checks, and logging features to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of pharmaceutical data throughout the ETL process.
• Collaborate with database administrators (DBAs) and IT infrastructure teams to ensure the availability, security, and performance of database servers and SSIS environments.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior SQL/SSIS developers within the team, including code reviews, knowledge sharing, and training sessions.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry related to data management, privacy, and security.
• Participate in project planning, estimation, and resource allocation activities as part of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) process.
• Collaborate with other development teams, system architects, and business analysts to design and implement integrated solutions that meet business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Advanced degree or relevant certifications in data management or healthcare informatics are a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in SQL/SSIS development, with a focus on data integration and warehousing projects within the pharmaceutical or healthcare domain.
• Proficiency in SQL programming, database design, and optimization techniques.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL is required.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for ETL development, including control flow tasks, data flow transformations, and package deployment.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical data domains including clinical trials, drug development, regulatory compliance, and pharmacovigilance.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven leadership abilities with experience in leading small to medium-sized development teams and driving successful project outcomes.
