Build the Platform Behind Enterprise-Scale Java Applications
We are looking for an experienced Java & Networking Platform Engineer to join a global Platform Engineering team responsible for building the reusable libraries, frameworks, and developer tooling that power enterprise Java applications.
Rather than developing a single business application, you'll help design and enhance the core platform capabilities used by development teams across a large international organization. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about Java internals, distributed systems, networking, and cloud-native platform engineering.
What You'll Do
Platform Engineering
Develop and maintain reusable Java libraries, frameworks, and developer tools.
Improve service-to-service communication across distributed Java applications.
Build reference implementations, reusable components, and engineering standards.
Support platform modernization initiatives, including cloud and container adoption.
Java & Networking
Investigate complex issues involving Java applications, JVM behavior, networking, and runtime performance.
Work with distributed systems, networking protocols, and connectivity services.
Collaborate with Infrastructure, Networking, and Security teams to deliver reliable platform capabilities.
Help development teams adopt enterprise Java standards and engineering best practices.
Engineering Excellence
Participate in architecture discussions, technical reviews, and platform design decisions.
Improve developer productivity through tooling, automation, and reusable frameworks.
Contribute to engineering documentation and technical guidance.
Support continuous improvement across platform engineering initiatives.
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
β Strong professional experience developing applications with Java.
β Solid understanding of JVM internals, memory management, and runtime behavior.
β Experience with concurrency and multithreaded programming.
β Experience designing or supporting distributed systems.
β Strong networking fundamentals, including:
TCP/IP
HTTP / HTTPS
TLS / mTLS
Load Balancing
Service Discovery
Connection Management
β Experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
β Linux administration or troubleshooting experience.
β Strong English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
β Kubernetes or Docker.
β Cloud-native application development.
β API Gateways or Service Mesh technologies.
β Netty or Java networking frameworks.
β JVM performance tuning.
β Authentication & Authorization technologies.
β OpenAPI, gRPC, or messaging platforms.
β CI/CD and developer tooling.
β Python, C++, or scripting languages.
β Experience building shared frameworks or platform services.
