Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated IT Support Engineer to maintain, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues across our organization. In this role, you will be the first line of defense in ensuring our employees have the technological tools and support they need to work efficiently. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a customer-first approach to technical support.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Setup & Deployment: Configure, install, and deploy computers, laptops, monitors, printers, and other peripheral devices for new and existing employees.
Hardware Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair physical defects or malfunctions in company hardware, coordinating with vendors for warranty repairs or replacements when necessary.
Software Installation & Updates: Manage the rollout, installation, and updating of operating systems (Windows, macOS), productivity suites (Office 365, Google Workspace), and company-specific applications.
Software Troubleshooting: Resolve application crashes, performance lags, software conflicts, and user access issues promptly.
Ticketing & Issue Tracking: Monitor the IT helpdesk system, prioritize incoming requests, and document all resolutions accurately within the ticketing system.
Network & Connectivity Support: Provide basic troubleshooting for local area networks (LAN), Wi-Fi connectivity, and VPN access issues for remote and in-office employees.
Access & Identity Management: Handle user account creation, password resets, and permission management via systems like Active Directory or Okta.
Onboarding & Offboarding: Assist in the technical setup for new hires and secure the retrieval and wiping of hardware for departing employees.
IT Asset Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of all company-owned hardware and software licenses.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Experience: 2+ years of proven experience as an IT Support Specialist, Help Desk Technician, or similar role.
OS Proficiency: Deep working knowledge of both Windows and macOS operating systems.
Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with administrative centers for Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and mobile device management (MDM) platforms.
Diagnostic Skills: Strong ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software problems logically and efficiently.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff with patience and empathy.
Preferred Certifications
CompTIA A+ or CompTIA Network+
Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP)
ITIL Foundation Certification
