IT PLM Developer Analyst
Job Description
Company Description
It started with a simple idea: what if surgery could be less invasive and recovery less painful? Nearly 30 years later, that question still fuels everything we do at Intuitive. As a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive care, our technologies—like the da Vinci surgical system and Ion—have transformed how care is delivered for millions of patients worldwide.
We’re a team of engineers, clinicians, and innovators united by one purpose: to make surgery smarter, safer, and more human. Every day, our work helps care teams perform with greater precision and patients recover faster, improving outcomes around the world.
The problems we solve demand creativity, rigor, and collaboration. The work is challenging, but deeply meaningful—because every improvement we make has the potential to change a life.
If you’re ready to contribute to something bigger than yourself and help transform the future of healthcare, you’ll find your purpose here.

• The successful candidate will demonstrate strong learning agility, adaptability, and a transformation mindset, with the ability to operate effectively across both legacy and emerging PLM technologies while supporting business continuity and modernization initiatives.
• Responsible for requirements, design, specifications, configuration, development, and integration of PLM and associated IT applications across both the legacy and future-state platforms.
• Works with the broader IT PLM team to document requirements, create specifications, and develop configurations or customizations that implement compliant, best-practice solutions on the current and future platform.
Essential Job Duties
Agile PLM Support & Enhancement (current state)
• Directly participate in the analysis, configuration, development, and implementation of Agile PLM business systems.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve Agile PLM system issues, including debugging system-level code of Agile SDK-based business applications.
• Maintain IT business system integrity: application notes, system upgrades, patches, changes, and user updates.
• Design, develop, and support integrations between Agile PLM and other systems using Agile Content Server (ACS) and Web Services.
• Train super users on new or modified system configurations as they affect business processes.
PLM Modernization & Cloud Migration (future-state)

• Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, and configuration of the target cloud PLM platform, working alongside Sunnyvale-based architects and business analysts.
• Design, build, and support integrations between the new PLM platform and upstream/downstream systems (ERP, MES, QMS, LMS) using modern REST/SOAP APIs and integration middleware.
• Contribute to cutover planning, parallel-run validation, and post go-live stabilization support.
General Analysis, Delivery & AI-Enabled Productivity
• Lead major-to-medium projects with ownership and energy.
• Conduct analysis of system and functional specifications and configuration, then develop appropriate documentation.
• Write specification documents for development and other efforts; develop conversion and system implementation plans.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar) to accelerate scripting, code review, and documentation authoring, with appropriate human review and validation.
• Use AI/automation techniques to support data migration quality checks (e.g., anomaly detection in legacy data extracts, automated reconciliation reporting) and to streamline repetitive configuration or testing tasks.
• Explore opportunities to apply intelligent document processing or workflow automation to PLM-adjacent business processes (e.g., change request triage, specification drafting support), in partnership with the broader IT team.
Qualifications
• In-depth knowledge and 5+ years of hands-on experience with Agile PLM is required, including configuration, administration, customization, integration, and production support. • Understanding of Computer System Validation (CSV) / Computer Software Assurance (CSA) principles as applied to regulated PLM/quality systems.
• Architecture / backend database experience in an Oracle or Linux environment.
• Experience with, or working knowledge of, a modern cloud PLM platform — Oracle Cloud PLM, PTC Windchill, or comparable — including cloud-based configuration, workflow design, and data model concepts.
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and modern integration patterns for connecting PLM to enterprise systems (ERP, MES, QMS, LMS).
• Exposure to, or hands-on use of, AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, ChatGPT/Claude for documentation or test-case generation) in a professional software delivery context.
