Job Description
We are seeking a highly capable IT Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance a robust, secure, and scalable technology environment within a fast-paced financial services setting. This role will play a key part in managing core infrastructure, driving system improvements, and ensuring high availability across critical platforms.The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation, hands-on infrastructure experience, and a background working within financial or banking environments.Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and cloud environments
Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability, ensuring optimal uptime
Manage and support on-premise and cloud-based platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, or similar)
Maintain network security, firewalls, and access controls in line with best practices
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver infrastructure improvements and technical solutions
Support disaster recovery, backup strategies, and business continuity planning
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide timely resolution
Ensure systems operate in compliance with regulatory and security requirements relevant to financial services
Requirements
Degree in a technical discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or similar)
Proven experience in IT infrastructure engineering or systems administration
Financial services or banking experience is essential
Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls)
Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or equivalent)
Solid understanding of security frameworks and best practices
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Skills
Experience with automation tools (PowerShell, Python, or similar)
Exposure to DevOps practices or infrastructure-as-code
Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools
Understanding of regulatory requirements within financial environments

Pay: £80,000.00-£120,000.00 per year
