Role Overview

We are looking for an IT Field Engineer to provide backfill support for an existing IT Engineer in Ottawa. The selected engineer will cover onsite duties when the primary engineer is on leave or otherwise unavailable.

Important Note on Visits

There is no fixed number of weekly visits. The workload may vary depending on the requirements and availability of the primary engineer.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide onsite IT support as required
• Cover the duties of the primary IT Engineer during periods of absence
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues
• Perform basic installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks
• Follow client procedures and onsite instructions
• Provide service updates and completion reports after each visit

Candidate Requirements
• Previous experience in IT Field Support / Desktop Support / Field Engineering
• Good troubleshooting and hardware support skills
Professional communication and customer-facing skills
• Ability to work independently onsite
• Flexibility to support varying visit requirements
• Must be based in or able to travel to Ottawa

Engagement

This is a flexible backfill opportunity rather than a fixed weekly assignment. Engineers will be contacted when coverage is required, and compensation will be based on the actual onsite work completed.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
