Job Description
Position OverviewThe Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and optimization of electrical systems and instrumentation across the plastic engineering manufacturing facility. This includes managing automation systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems, PLCs, instrumentation calibration, and preventive maintenance strategies.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems.Ensure proper installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of field instruments and electrical equipment.Manage and maintain PLC, SCADA, and automation systems used in plastic manufacturing processes.Prepare and review BOQ, SOQ, and technical specifications for electrical and instrumentation procurement.Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives.Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory regulations.Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to ensure minimal downtime.Maintain documentation including wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and maintenance records.Participate in plant audits, HAZOP studies, and risk assessments.Raise material requisitions and manage inventory of critical spares using ERP/SAP.Support commissioning of new equipment and systems.Collaborate with vendors and contractors for project execution and maintenance activities.Technical Competencies/SkillsStrong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and automation.Proficiency in PLC programming and SCADA systems.Knowledge of calibration techniques and standards.Familiarity with P&ID, loop diagrams, and control philosophy.Experience with energy management and electrical safety.ERP/SAP system proficiency.MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Execution ExcellenceCommitment to safety, quality, and timely execution.Strong documentation and reporting skills.Ability to work collaboratively across departments.Education QualificationB.E./B.Tech in Electrical & Instrumentation, Electronics & Instrumentation, or related field.
