Data Centre Infrastructure Architect
Job Description
Contract: Initial 6 Months (Highly Likely to Extend)
Location: Hybrid - London
Rate: £550-£650 per day (Inside IR35) – Flexible for the right candidate
We're supporting a leading global technology services organisation in the search for an experienced Data Centre Infrastructure Architect to join a major programme for one of the UK's most recognisable critical national infrastructure organisations.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and evolving a large-scale enterprise data centre estate, providing architectural governance, technical assurance and strategic direction across multiple infrastructure initiatives.
You'll act as the technical authority across a portfolio of infrastructure projects, ensuring solutions align with architectural standards and long-term technology roadmaps. Working alongside engineering and project teams, you'll provide guidance on infrastructure design, technical decision-making and best practice while helping shape the future direction of the organisation's core data centre technologies.
This is a hands-on infrastructure architecture role focused on enterprise compute, virtualisation and storage platforms—not a traditional enterprise or solutions architecture position.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical assurance across multiple infrastructure projects.
• Define and maintain infrastructure architecture standards and technology roadmaps.
• Review and approve infrastructure designs and technical solutions.
• Work closely with engineering teams to ensure architectural best practice.
• Support the transition and ongoing evolution of a complex enterprise data centre environment.
• Act as the subject matter expert for core server, storage and virtualisation technologies.
Required ExperienceWe're looking for an experienced Data Centre Infrastructure Architect with strong expertise across:
• Nutanix
• VMware (vSphere/ESXi)
• Linux
• Kubernetes
• HPE server technologies
• HPE storage platforms
You'll ideally have experience designing and governing large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments and be comfortable engaging with both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
If you're a true Data Centre Infrastructure Architect with deep expertise in enterprise server, storage and virtualisation technologies and are looking for your next contract, I'd be keen to speak with you.
