Information Management Advisor
Job Description
Our Information Management team is responsible for Transpower’s corporate and engineering records: 2,000+ SharePoint sites containing millions of documents and records, 750,000+ CAD drawings, terabytes of 3D models and point clouds, more than two million photos and videos, and 16,000+ boxes of physical records.
To help realise more value from this information, we’re working on initiatives involving AI, cloud integration, information systems and improved tools.
The opportunity - due to internal promotion
We’re looking for a SharePoint-savvy Information Management Advisor to join our team of Corporate Information Management and Engineering Information Management professionals. You’ll support day-to-day technical advice and administration, while helping people across the business get more value from the information they use.
Working closely with the Enterprise Information Manager, you’ll help implement and support IM policies and practices, refine and deliver training, and provide user support so people can use our platforms confidently and effectively.
With a strong focus on managing and provisioning our SharePoint environment, you’ll also apply your experience in training delivery, requirements gathering, workflow improvement and process design. You’ll bring, and continue to build, capability across:
Microsoft Teams tools
Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps and Power BI
Term store and metadata management
Retention, disposal and sensitivity labelling
Purview, eDiscovery, sentencing and disposal, auditing and reporting
Who do we need?
You’ll be an outstanding communicator who understands information architecture, is comfortable delivering engaging training, and enjoys working with the business. You’ll help people understand how the Microsoft platform can support them to access, manage and protect their information.
To be considered, your CV and cover letter will demonstrate:
SharePoint site administration, governance, and user support experience
Confident use of Microsoft 365 tools, including Purview and Power Platform
Knowledge of public sector information management and the Public Records Act 2005
Experience with classification, retrieval, retention, disposal, and related information practices
Ability to gather and interpret business requirements in a large or complex organisation
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across varied business audiences
