With a busy year ahead, Waterstone is looking to hire a lawyer to assist in managing our litigation and transactional matters. If you are an admitted lawyer with about 2 to 4 years of post qualification experience, you might be just the candidate to join our in-house legal team.
Preference will be given to candidates with proven experience or a keen interest in insolvency, corporate and commercial law.

About us
Waterstone is an insolvency, restructuring and consulting practice based in Auckland. We specialise in formal corporate insolvency/recovery appointments (liquidations, receiverships voluntary administrations).
Since 2008 we have handled over +00 insolvency and restructuring assignments across multiple industry sectors including construction, property, financial services, hospitality and retail to name a few.
We are constantly expanding with a dedicated in-house legal team, insolvency team, financial team and more. We also have permanent offices in both Wellington CBD and Christchurch.
With a litigious reputation in the industry, we regularly pursue complex recoveries, director breaches, voidable transactions and forensic reconstruction and analysis.
What we are looking for
A lawyer with 2 – 4 years PQE who holds or is entitled to hold a practising certificate
Litigation or corporate law experience preferred (but not required)
Knowledge of and ability to draft pleadings
Strong analytical and research skills
Good attention to detail results focused
Works well in team environment and willing to provide assistance to junior lawyers and graduates
Excellent verbal and written communication
What you can expect

Managing files i.e. transactions and court proceedings
Advice to directors/practitioners on insolvency matters including complex recovery actions
Legal research and drafting of advice memoranda
Being a trusted legal voice for the business
