We are a boutique Canadian immigration law firm focused on delivering strategic, client-centered representation in a wide range of immigration matters, including work permits, permanent residence applications, inadmissibility matters, refusals, and litigation-related files. We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Legal Assistant to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities, and has a strong interest in immigration law.
Job Duties:
• Prepare, organize, and review immigration application packages and supporting documents
• Draft correspondence, submission letters, and forms under lawyer supervision
• Communicate with clients regarding document requests, deadlines, and file updates
• Maintain electronic and physical client files
• Monitor application deadlines, appointments, and follow-ups
• Conduct basic legal and procedural research
• Assist with tribunal, Federal Court, and litigation support tasks where required
• Liaise with government departments including IRCC, CBSA, and Service Canada
• Schedule consultations and manage lawyer calendars
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of filings prior to submission
Qualifications:
• Diploma or degree in Legal Administration, Law Clerk, Paralegal Studies, or related field is an asset.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
