Job Description:

We are seeking a certified Imaging and Diagnostic Medical Coder to join our team. This role involves the accurate coding of medical imaging and diagnostic procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and payer-specific regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of radiology and diagnostic coding and the ability to work in a high-volume, detail-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:
• Review and assign correct ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to medical imaging and diagnostic services, including:
• X-rays
• CT scans
• MRI scans
• Ultrasounds
• Mammograms
• Nuclear Medicine
• Diagnostic tests like EKGs and EEGs
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, payer-specific policies, and industry regulations such as CMS, Medicare, and Medicaid.
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies in documentation that affect coding accuracy.
• Conduct audits of medical records to ensure coding accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes related to imaging and diagnostics.
• Maintain coding accuracy while meeting productivity standards in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide coding expertise to internal teams and clients when questions arise regarding imaging or diagnostic procedures.

Qualifications:
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Radiology Coder (CRC), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) is required.
• 2+ years of experience in medical coding with a focus on radiology, imaging, and diagnostic services.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT (particularly in radiology), and HCPCS coding systems.
• Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid billing guidelines, payer-specific policies, and CMS regulations.
• Experience with coding software and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like EPIC, Cerner, or similar platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding, with the ability to meet productivity goals.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to interact with radiologists, healthcare providers, and other team members.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with accountability for performance tracking.
