We are currently hiring for an HPC System Administrator in London, United Kingdom, with experience in Linux, Unix, RedHat, Server, Storage, Networking, to work a mix of on-site and remote support to our customers.
As part of the Lenovo Managed Services team your responsibilities will include:
Monitoring, maintaining, and managing the physical infrastructure of a data center, ensuring its smooth operation, reliability, and security.
Monitoring power and cooling systems and network connectivity
Hardware and system software debugging and troubleshooting.
Responding to alerts, performing preventative maintenance, rolling out and upgrading firmware versions, and managing any issues that may arise to minimize downtime and optimize data availability
Performing software and operating system upgrades to latest Best Recipe
Resolve errors through developing, testing and implementing changes to the system.
Provide corrective and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and isolate defects.
Perform Software and firmware testing for any fixes, upgrades, security patch.
Position requirements:
Strong experience in Linux environments (Suse, RHEL, CentOS) including RedHat distributions
Hands-on experience with HPC tools and schedulers such as Slurm and PBS Pro, as well as Confluent
Solid scripting and automation skills using Ansible, Bash, and Python
Experience with distributed storage systems and file systems (GPFS, Weka, DDN, NFS, SMB)
Knowledge of advanced networking technologies (InfiniBand, RDMA, ROCE)
Experience with version control and automation practices (GitLab, GitOps)
Strong background in system administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support, including security patching
Hands-on expertise with hardware and infrastructure (server, storage, networking), including installation, break-fix, OS deployment, and firmware/software upgrades independently
