Position Summary
We’re hiring a driven, relationship-oriented Hotel Sales Manager to grow top-line revenue for our Hampton Inn through proactive outside sales and strong account management. This role focuses on generating business in key segments such as corporate negotiated, small groups, SMERF, government, and sports/leisure (as applicable), while partnering closely with the General Manager and operations team to ensure groups and accounts are serviced smoothly.
This is an excellent opportunity for a sales professional who thrives on outbound prospecting, networking, and converting leads into booked business.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Develop and execute a weekly sales plan to meet or exceed room night and revenue targets.
Proactively solicit and close business from local corporations, project crews, travel managers, tour operators, and small group planners.
Manage and grow an assigned account base with consistent calls, site visits, and quarterly business reviews.
Identify and pursue new market opportunities through networking, local associations, and community partnerships.
Revenue & Strategy
Partner with leadership to support demand strategy: segment mix, account production, pace, and need periods.
Track sales activity, pipeline, and production; maintain accurate records in CRM/sales systems.
Assist with RFPs and negotiated rate agreements as needed.
Group & Account Coordination
Coordinate group blocks and contracts; ensure correct setup, cut-off dates, deposits, and billing instructions.
Communicate key details to operations to support a strong guest experience (arrival patterns, special requests, VIPs).
Market Intelligence
Monitor comp set activity, local events, and demand drivers; bring actionable insights to weekly strategy discussions.
Qualifications
2+ years of hotel sales experience preferred (select-service strongly preferred).
Proven success in outbound prospecting, relationship-building, and meeting revenue goals.
Strong communication and negotiation skills; confident with phone/email outreach and in-person networking.
Organized and detail-oriented: able to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and priorities.
Comfortable working with hotel systems (PMS/CRM) and reporting (pace, production, market segmentation).
Reliable transportation for local sales calls and client visits.
Preferred
Prior Hilton/Marriott experience.
Experience selling to corporate, government, sports segments.
Bilingual or multilingual capability.
Work Requirements
Business-hours schedule with flexibility for occasional evening networking events or client entertainment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
