Job Overview:
Acadiana Landfill LLC is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of landfill machinery, including dozers, excavators, dump trucks, cranes, tankers, and more. This role is essential in keeping operations running smoothly and efficiently, ensuring that all equipment is in top working condition. If you are a dedicated mechanic with experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, we want you on our team!

Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, including but not limited to dozers, excavators, dump trucks, cranes, front loaders, backhoes, and water trucks.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance, including lubrication, filter changes, and cleaning air coolers.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on various equipment.
• Perform minor and major repairs, ensuring all equipment remains operational and safe.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety protocols.
• Keep accurate service and repair records for equipment maintenance logs.
• Collaborate with the operations team to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.
• Willingness to work at different locations (Demo or Landfills) if required.
Qualifications:
• Proven 3 years experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, preferably in a landfill or construction environment.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working on Caterpillar, excavators, dozers, off-road dump trucks, tankers, front loader trucks, backhoes, and water trucks.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics.
• Must have a valid driver's license and Social Security card.
• Ability to pass a drug/alcohol/physical test.
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
