Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Coach or Assistant Coach to lead one of our youth club volleyball teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in volleyball (former player) and some coaching experience is an asset, with the ability to educate and inspire athletes in the sport of volleyball. This role requires a commitment to fostering a positive team environment, developing training programs, and promoting the overall growth of each athlete. Sonic Volleyball Club schedules everything for you allowing you to focus just on coaching, we provide all training courses required through Volleyball Alberta, provides you all equipment necessary. Some club apparel and away tournament hotel expenses covered. Season officially starts in December and runs to the end of May. Open gyms and tryouts are in August and September

Duties

Run a 2hr practice for your team twice a week(can accommodate your desired days of the week)
develop your teams techniques, strategies, with a focus on fundamentals
teach all aspects of volleyball, court awareness, offense and defense systems, passing, setting, blocking, hitting, serving, diving
offer athlete feedback and instructions for improvement
Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude among all team members.
attend monthly weekend Premier tournaments (tournaments run about every 3 weeks)
Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and club directors
Stay updated on the latest coaching techniques and trends to continuously improve training methods.
Skills

Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rules, and competitive strategies.
Excellent communication skills to effectively educate athletes and engage with parents.
Ability to motivate and inspire athletes to reach their full potential.
Strong organizational skills for managing practice schedules, events, and athlete progress.
Experience in coaching or teaching is preferred but not mandatory.
A passion for volleyball and commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle among team members.

Pay: $17.00-$22.00 per hour
