Hair Salon Jr. Stylist/ Assistant

Carte Blanche Haute Coiffeur and Spa is hiring at our Innes road location in Orleans. Join a dynamic and supportive team of hairstylists and estheticians.

Job Description:

Shampoo and condition guest’s hair for a stylist
Keep shampoo area clean and organized
Maintain salon appearance and cleanliness
Sweep around stylists' chairs
Perform services on client's (example: hair cuts, hair colour, men's cut & kid's cut)
Laundry
Greet guests as they walk in and leave out
Tell the appropriate technician their guest has arrived
Inform guests when it is time to go back and get a shampoo, smock, etc
Promote and sell services and products, including recommending and selling additional services and/or retail products which will enhance and improve the guests’ image and/or contribute to the guest's satisfaction with services performed
Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately
Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership

Salary: $17.60 per hour starting wage

Ability to commute/relocate:

Ottawa, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:

hair styling: 1 year (preferred but not required)
an interest in hair and esthetics
