About Koala Ink
Koala Ink is a new retail print and personalisation shop opening at Shop 161, Level 3, Westfield Belconnen.
We combine on-the-spot design, personalised products, and modern digital printing technology to create customised items for customers in-store and online. Customers will be able to request artwork, upload files, and order personalised products through our website, as well as visit the shop for live design support.
We are looking for a reliable, creative and hands-on person to join us as a Graphic Designer / Online Orders & UV Print Production team member.
About the role
This is a multi-role position suited to someone who enjoys design, customer interaction, online order handling, and learning print production.
You will create print-ready artwork, assist customers in-store, respond to online artwork requests, and participate in UV print production using modern equipment, including a Roland VersaOBJECT MO-240 UV printer.
Training will be provided for UV print production, machine care, maintenance routines and shop workflows.
Key responsibilitiesDesign and customer artwork
You will:
Create print-ready artwork quickly and accurately for personalised products
Work directly with customers in-store, including live edits while customers are present
Handle artwork requests received through website submissions, phone enquiries, chat/email and uploads
Prepare files correctly for production, including sizing, templates, resolution, formats and naming conventions
Online orders and fulfilment
You will:
Monitor and respond to online order and artwork requests
Convert customer briefs into artwork drafts efficiently
Request clarification from customers where required
Support order tracking, packing, handover, shipping preparation and basic customer updates
UV print production
You will:
Assist with UV print production using equipment such as the Roland MO-240
Help with print setup, basic checks, safe handling and quality control
Follow procedures carefully when working with high-value machinery
Report any issues promptly
Equipment care and shop presentation
You will:
Complete daily cleaning and basic maintenance tasks as required
Keep the production area, workstation and shop tidy and organised
Follow maintenance checklists and basic operating procedures
Assist with general shop duties, file organisation, material handling and basic housekeeping
Marketing and social media
You should be comfortable occasionally appearing in simple company marketing content such as short clips, product showcases or behind-the-scenes videos. This is not an influencer role, but you should be comfortable being on camera from time to time.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
Ability to create print-ready artwork quickly and accurately
Confidence using AI creative tools to assist with concepts and artwork preparation
Good communication skills with customers, both in person and online
Ability to work under pressure when customers are waiting
Basic computer/admin skills, including Word and Excel
A reliable, punctual and careful approach to work
A responsible attitude when working with expensive machinery
Highly regarded but not essential
Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:
Digital printing or print production
Roland, Mimaki or similar printing equipment
E-commerce order handling
Customer service or retail work
Personalised products, signage, gifts or custom printing
