Job Description
As a Furniture Designer at Space 5 Architect, you will be responsible for designing high-quality, bespoke furniture that complements our architectural projects. You will work closely with architects, interior designers, and clients to create functional and aesthetically pleasing pieces. Your role will involve everything from initial concept sketches to detailed 3D models and final post-production edits.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and Conceptualization: Develop innovative and functional furniture designs that align with the architectural vision and client needs. Provide clear and detailed sketches and design proposals.
• 3D Modeling: Create high-quality 3D models of furniture using Rhino, Max, or Maya. Ensure that designs are accurately represented and meet all technical specifications.
• Sketching: Demonstrate excellent sketching skills to visually communicate ideas and concepts effectively.
• Digital Illustration: Utilize iPad software such as Procreate for creating detailed design visuals and illustrations.
• Post-Production Edits: Use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to refine and enhance design presentations, including creating polished visuals, technical drawings, and client presentations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with architects and interior designers to ensure that furniture designs integrate seamlessly with overall space planning and architectural elements.
• Client Interaction: Present design concepts to clients and incorporate feedback to refine and finalize furniture designs.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven experience in furniture design with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design styles and projects.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in 3D modeling software (Rhino, Max, Maya), digital sketching (Procreate), and post-production tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Creativity and Innovation: Strong ability to create unique and functional designs that push the boundaries of traditional furniture design.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with a focus on precision and accuracy in all aspects of design and presentation.
