Full-Time Staff Accountant at Unity Medical Center
Job Overview
Unity Medical Center is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Full-Time Staff Accountant to become an integral part of our team. In this essential role, you will oversee comprehensive accounting functions, concentrating on staffing-related financial activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and fostering organizational growth. Key Job Functions
Prepare financial statements and data
Post monthly journal entries for the General Ledger
Coordinate the collection, preparation, and entry of statistical data monthly
Manage financial reporting for clinics and home health agencies
Reconcile all bank accounts
Assist in ensuring compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal audit requirements across the company
Reconcile and prepare balance sheet account reviews monthly (PCR)
Act as a liaison with consultants on cost report preparation and auditors during the annual audit as needed
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer
Adhere to policies regarding reporting occurrences of medical/healthcare errors and actions taken to enhance patient safety, in line with the Patient Safety Plan
Utilize appropriate etiquette when receiving, placing, and transferring phone calls
Exhibit active listening skills and maintain a positive attitude
Interact with patients, visitors, co-workers, and physicians in a courteous and respectful manner consistently
Engage in hospital activities such as error reporting and focused improvement initiatives
Address patient concerns promptly and with professionalism
Maintain a professional image through grooming, uniform choices, and communication skills
Respond constructively to suggestions and feedback, demonstrating a willingness to collaborate effectively with others
Requirements:
Education: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
Experience:
Two to three years of relevant work experience is required
Background in business and finance is essential; experience in hospital accounting is preferred.
