Job Description
The Strathcona Hotel, located in the heart of Vibrant Victoria is looking to hire a reliable, responsible, and energetic individual to join our front desk team.
Our ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, organized and has a passion for creating pleasant and positive experiences with our guests, patrons, and suppliers.
Part time or Full time
Duties and Responsibilities:
Greeting Guests, and successfully completing the check in and checkout processes in a timely and pleasant manner.
Creating and managing reservations for the hotel utilizing online sources, third party bookings, telephone inquiries, walk in guests, and internal bookings.
Maximizing revenue by adhering to the policies and procedures of the Strathcona Hotel with regard to external/internal revenue sources such as hotel reservations, guest room upgrades, parking charges, gift card transactions/sales and special event ticket sales.
Assisting Guests with information on local attractions, transportation, sightseeing tours, and informing them of Hotel amenities, venues, and/or events.
Resolving Guest concerns to ensure they have the best experience possible.
Answering the switchboard and dispatching calls to the appropriate departments, venues, and/or responding to guest and patron inquiries.
Assisting the FOH with key sign in/out, cash reconciliations, and cash drops.
Operating digital radios to communicate with various departments, and team members throughout the property.

REQUIREMENTS
Protect the privacy of guests, staff, and the company by making certain that sensitive information is not left unattended or improperly disclosed.
Must have a minimum of 1 year hotel front desk experience
Work well in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude while serving as the “Heart of the Hotel,” and communications base for the entire property.
Remain calm, cool, and collected in the event of an emergency, and ensure that all emergency procedures and policies are adhered to.
Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments.
Must possess great communication skills and work well with a large team
proof of vaccination status required
