Role Description This is a temporary, remote freelance role for a Report Publishing Designer focused on technical and summary reports. The designer will format, layout, and finalize multi-page reports, ensuring consistent typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy across all sections. Day-to-day tasks include working from existing text and data, designing templates, applying styles, inserting charts or graphics, and preparing print-ready and digital-ready files (such as PDFs). The role involves collaborating with project leads to interpret brand guidelines, refining drafts based on feedback, and managing version control for report updates. The designer is expected to work independently, meet agreed deadlines, and communicate clearly about progress, constraints, and any design or technical issues.
Qualifications
• Strong report layout and publication design skills, including experience with multi-page documents, templates, and style guides.
• Proficiency in professional design and publishing software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalent tools such as Affinity Publisher).
• Solid understanding of typography, color, and visual hierarchy to ensure readability and professional presentation of technical content.
• Ability to work with charts, tables, and infographics, translating data and analysis into clear visual formats.
• Experience preparing print-ready and digital-ready files, including knowledge of export settings, file optimization, and accessibility considerations.
• Strong attention to detail, including consistency checks, formatting accuracy, and quality control before delivery.
• Effective remote work skills: self-management, time management, and reliable communication via email and collaboration tools.
• Comfort working with technical, research, or business reports; prior experience in consulting, academic, or corporate documentation is a plus.
• Relevant education or training in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
