Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role
Key responsibilities of this tutoring role include facilitating teaching, learning and assessment for the NZ Certificate in Automotive Engineering Level 3.
You will be supporting ākonga [learners] to gain trade skills at a pre-apprenticeship level, including a strong hands-on practical learning component.
Teaching qualifications and experience are not essential for this position; however, you must possess the following qualities to ensure you have the potential to quickly grow into an effective tutor: patience, adaptability, positive attitude, good communication skills and a reasonable level of physical fitness.
To be successful, you will have experience in the industry and a relevant qualification at Level 3 or higher in Automotive Engineering as a light vehicle technician.
Successful applicants who do not already hold a teaching qualification will be supported to complete a Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching, or a similar tertiary teaching qualification, through on-the-job training and development. We will, of course, provide full support throughout this process.
The role is based at our Rotokauri campus, in the Centre for Trades, reporting to the Team Manager.
