Bistro Monadnock, a 120-seat modern French restaurant located in the heart of Chicago's South Loop area, is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining food quality and consistency, while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
Maintain food cost goals by demonstrating a proactive awareness of station par levels, food rotation, proper labeling, and waste management.
Adhere to recipe and food presentation specifications and portion control.
Have a great attitude and be willing to learn.
Comply with food safety and sanitation regulations.
The successful candidate will work efficiently with a constant sense of urgency, keep their immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance, perform shift change and/or opening or closing duties, and adhere to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
A Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certification or SERV Safe Food Handler Certification is required. Culinary school graduate degree is preferred but not required.
