Role Description:
We have a great opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, this role is responsible for ensuring the accurate accounting and reporting of financial transactions along with assisting with the implementation of Central Finance functional strategies, embedding financial controls and processes ensuring governance requirements are met and the implementation of process & system improvements.
Core Duties:
Manage the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process, ensuring all reconciliations are completed on a timely basis and in accordance with our policy
Accountable for maintenance and control of the general ledger including the chart of accounts, company structure and reporting
Responsible for all labour accounting processes including labour distribution, central labour journals and month-end task
Preparation and management of payroll & labour costing reconciliations, ensuring accurate labour costing reporting across the business
Responsible for the forecasting and budgeting task for Leave True-up
Manage the month end processes for General Ledger ensuring all journals are processed and modules balanced and closed in line with month end timetable and compliance/governance is in accordance with the Company’s Policies and Procedures and assist in managing the internal audit (FCFA) for General Ledger
Liaise with various functions & business units in relation to General Ledger and Labour Accounting activities
Support the Senior Financial Accountant with internal and external Auditors with queries at mid-year and year-end
Oversee the ABS surveys preparation and ensure timely submission
Effectively communicate, both verbally and in written form with all stakeholders in a professional and prompt manner
Any additional ad-hoc tasks as directed
About You:
Degree qualification in a relevant field
CA or CPA qualification
Previous experience in financial accounting and business partnering within medium to large corporate environments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work efficiently with stakeholders at all levels
Experience in partnering with financial and non-financial staff in order to meet business outcomes
Up-to-date and expert knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Advanced skills in Excel, Intermediate skills in Word and PowerPoint and ability to use integrated financial/ ERP systems effectively
Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
