Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer , which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence . Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.
We currently have an opportunity for a Finance Support in Canberra to work on MIWS projects .
What You’ll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:
Manage complex information and data activities related to maritime programs, including coordination across multi‑national partners and foreign government arrangements.
Operate within legislative and regulatory frameworks , ensuring information handling aligns with Defence, international agreements, and controlled data requirements.
Support the management of sensitive technical information , particularly material relating to US‑origin Defence articles subject to ITAR controls.
Work effectively with diverse stakeholders , including international partners, Defence organisations, and industry, to ensure accurate and compliant information exchange.
Maintain eligibility for ITAR‑restricted work , including meeting citizenship and residency disclosure requirements and adhering to access limitations where applicable.
What You’ll Bring
Strong analytical capability with the enthusiasm and willingness to learn in a challenging, fast‑paced environment.
Flexible and adaptable , able to work autonomously or collaboratively while delivering solutions under pressure in complex settings.
Proactive approach to work , with demonstrated experience in information management, particularly in environments involving export controls.
Excellent communication skills , able to build and maintain effective relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
Sound problem‑solving and decision‑making skills , with the ability to recommend practical solutions and navigate competing priorities.
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
