We’re a globally integrated Audit, Tax and Advisory firm with offices in more than 100 countries – and as a result of our growth, we’re ready to recruit an experienced and motivated new Finance Manager like you to join our Melbourne team.
As the Head of the internal Finance/Operations team for the Melbourne office, you will provide outstanding management of the firm’s internal Finance area, reporting to the Forvis Mazars Melbourne Managing Partner. You will support the Partners in strategic and financial decision making and undertake firm projects and initiatives: an initial focus will also be on the implementation of the financial modules of Employment Hero. You will be a key support for our fast-growing business, helping to build the firm’s future, as well as your own career.

About the role:
Oversee the firm’s financial functions, ensuring compliance with all taxation and legislative requirements.
Implement Employment Hero for payroll, leave and expenses management working collaboratively with the People Culture team
Responsible for the firm’s financial administration including time billing processes, management of insurer and bank relationships, oversight of debtor management and the firm’s trust account.
Prepare and co-ordinate management reports for Forvis Mazars, annual budgets, information for financial statements and monitor cash flow.
Participate in national or global calls as required and prepare reports for Forvis Mazars globally
Oversee employee payroll records including salary letter preparation, Partner payments as well as accruals, provisions and creditor payments
Supervision of the Finance team including delegation to and development of team members.
Work with People Culture team regarding recruitment and on/offboarding of staff
Support Partners and Managers to meet business financial requirements and changes
Undertake special projects
About you:
Previous experience in a similar role in a professional services firm (preferably accounting)
Completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree (or equivalent)
Strong business acumen
Strong attention to detail
Excellent time management skills and able to work autonomously
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
Strong leadership skills through prior team Manager roles
Enjoy working as part of a senior management team
Able to flex between strategic thinking and operational detail to meet requests of staff at all levels within the firm
A strong and dedicated work ethic with a genuine focus on internal and external client care
Positive and pro-active approach
The enthusiasm and commitment to develop a rewarding challenging career
Intermediate skills in Microsoft office
Strong knowledge of accounting systems and concepts (Time Billing)
Employment Hero knowledge an advantage
