The Role
As a Finance Business Partner you will support primarily the engineering department by delivering financial insight, cost control and strategic analysis across multiple vehicle development programmes.
Duties/Responsibilities
Business partner with Engineering Chiefs, Technical Programme Managers, Design leadership and Vehicle Line Managers to develop accurate short and long term forecasts, feeding into central FPA processes
Support the engineering change request process and drive cost efficiency
Drive finance discipline and compliance among key stakeholders to ensure high reporting accuracy
Build relationships with key Engineering suppliers and manage key accruals input into the accounting team
Lead monthly engineering financial reporting and presenting of the latest actuals status and long term forecast
Business partner Engineering in headcount planning across multiple projects
Support the Controller in the overall business case development and monitoring of existing and future projects
Return on investment (ROI) reporting and monitoring
Identify and monitor Finance risks and opportunities driving cost efficiency and profit improvement
Responsibilities may evolve and change to support the growing business
Personal Specification
Experience in Automotive or another complex engineering business
Hands on and detail oriented with the ability to think strategically
Proactive and confident in relationship building
Confident presenter of financial topics to non-finance stakeholders
Experience in a finance business partnering role, ideally supporting engineering or RD
Advanced Excel skills
Qualified accountant with strong commercial acumen (CIMA or equivalent)
SAP experience beneficial
