The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to contribute to a high‑performing federal government program by providing expert financial management, analysis and advice. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance, supporting decision‑making and strengthening financial performance across a complex operating environment.
Responsibilities include:
Managing financial activities in line with Commonwealth frameworks and policies
Providing accurate, timely financial reporting and analysis
Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
Advising stakeholders on financial risks, compliance and performance
Contributing to continuous improvement and high‑quality financial governance
Engaging collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including Defence where required
About You
You are an experienced financial management professional with strong knowledge of Commonwealth financial frameworks and a proven ability to deliver accurate, reliable financial advice in a fast‑paced environment. You work well in high‑performing teams, communicate clearly and bring a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
You bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or Business, or 5+ years’ Commonwealth financial management experience
Defence financial management and reporting
Strategic engagement
Team leadership
