Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Field Service Bio Medical Engineer based in corporate office in Howrah. The role involves installing, commissioning, and configuring hospital beds, OT equipment, critical care systems, and other medical devices at customer locations. The Field Service Bio Medical Engineer will perform routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot technical issues, and carry out repairs to ensure minimal downtime. The position requires documenting service activities, maintaining accurate maintenance records, and providing technical training or demonstrations to clinical and technical staff. The engineer will also collaborate with the sales and support teams, respond to service calls, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through professional communication and timely follow-up.
Qualifications
• Strong field service capabilities, including on-site installation, commissioning, and equipment setup.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and technical support for electro-mechanical and electronic medical devices.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, safety checks, and calibration of hospital and critical care equipment.
• Effective customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and manage expectations with healthcare staff.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related technical field.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation; basic computer literacy for reporting and record-keeping.
• Willingness to travel within the region for site visits, and to work flexibly in response to urgent service requirements.
• Previous experience in biomedical equipment servicing or hospital equipment maintenance is preferred.
