As our Farm Milk Quality Specialist, you'll be the technical expert behind our on-farm milk quality programme, working alongside farmers, Milk Supply Partners, laboratories, and operational teams to drive continuous improvement, strengthen assurance standards, and deliver exceptional milk quality outcomes across our supply network.

What You'll Be Doing
In this influential role, you will:
Lead and continuously improve Westland's milk quality programme, standards, KPIs, systems, and tools.
Analyse milk quality data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and drive informed decision making.
Support farm dairy assurance activities, audits, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Provide specialist technical advice and practical solutions to Milk Supply Partners and farmers across our network.
Develop training materials, SOPs, resources, and guidance to support consistent milk quality practices.
Lead investigations into milk quality incidents and non-conformances, coordinating corrective and preventative actions.
Projects focused on SCC reduction, bacterial count reduction, water quality, milking system performance, and other key quality initiatives.
Build strong relationships across Milk Supply, Laboratory, Operations, and Quality teams to achieve shared outcomes.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a technically capable and relationship-focused dairy professional who can combine scientific expertise with practical on-farm credibility.
You'll ideally have:
A qualification in Dairy Science, Food Technology, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
Experience in milk quality, farm dairy assurance, food safety, veterinary services, dairy advisory, or a similar technical agribusiness role.
Strong understanding of milk quality drivers including SCC, bacterial counts, residues, cooling compliance, and milking systems.
Proven ability to analyse data, identify trends, and translate technical insights into practical actions.
Knowledge of New Zealand dairy regulations, assurance systems, audit requirements, and compliance standards.
Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build trust.
