BCIT’s School of Computing and Academic Studies is seeking a regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) Faculty. Successful candidates will be primarily responsible for the development and delivery of Cybersecurity courses taught to students in the Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity Program, including supervision of capstone research projects.
Duties Responsibilities
DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development and delivery of courses related to Cybersecurity
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field;
3-5 years of work experience in the field of cybersecurity;
Extensive experience with Windows and Linux security administration and information security policy;
Subject matter expertise with common operating system internals, network packet capture tools such as Wireshark, Network Miner, and network discovery tools such as NMAP, and security applications such as firewall administration;
Experience implementing shell-scripts to perform system-related tasks;
Knowledge of research methodology;
Work experience with Legal Procedures and Evidence, preferably qualified as an expert witness
Teaching experience at the post-secondary level and supervision of student projects preferred.
Understanding of various learning styles and teaching strategies.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Success at initiating, executing and following up on projects.

Salary Range
Salary Range: $65,045 - $113,545 per annum.
Additional Salary Information
Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
