Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Facilities Cleaner to join our Edmonton team. The Facilities Cleaner is responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary production areas, offices, washrooms, lunchrooms, and other shared spaces throughout our chocolate-manufacturing facility.
Position type: Full-time, permanent
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Responsibilities
Follow all company policies and procedures, including health and safety, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
Sweep, mop, scrub, and clean floors throughout the facility.
Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas within the chocolate-production facility.
Clean and sanitize staff washrooms, lunchrooms, offices, and other common areas.
Remove garbage and recycling from production and common areas.
Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces, including doors, handles, windows, and shared equipment.
Operate cleaning equipment, including automatic floor scrubbers.
Complete scheduled facility and janitorial cleaning tasks.
Clean floor drains, walls, vents, and other facility surfaces as required.
Use and store cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with established procedures.
Identify and report equipment, sanitation, food safety, or workplace safety concerns.
Complete required cleaning and sanitation records accurately.
Support additional cleaning and sanitation duties as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
At least one year of previous cleaning or janitorial experience is required.
Experience with sanitation in a food-manufacturing environment is an asset.
Ability to understand and communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
Ability to work independently, stay organized, and complete assigned tasks.
Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established cleaning procedures.
Ability to work cooperatively as part of a small and diverse team.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
Ability to bend, reach, lift, carry, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
Ability to regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in an environment that may include noise, dust, production odors, water, cleaning chemicals, and hot or cold temperature variations.
Required use of personal protective equipment, including CSA-approved steel-toe footwear and other PPE as required.

1:45 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
