Role Description

As Server at this nationally recognized restaurant, you'll work closely with our management team to deliver impeccable service that complements our elevated Japanese-inspired cuisine. You'll help create memorable dining experiences while developing your skills in fine dining service and Japanese hospitality principles under the guidance of our service leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service Experience
• Ensure all orders are accurate and delivered to each table in a timely and professional manner
• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, wine pairings, and sake selections
• Assist with seating guests and managing reservation systems with precision and care
• Maintain exceptional standards of hospitality that reflect Shokunin's reputation for excellence
• Handle guest inquiries and special requests with professionalism and grace

Service Operations Standards
• Set up and stock server stations with all necessary supplies and mise en place
• Execute opening and closing duties pertaining to front-of-house operations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas to fine dining standards
• Ensure seamless coordination between front-of-house and kitchen operations
• Support beverage service including wine, sake, and specialty cocktail programs

Team Collaboration Communication
• Work in close cooperation with kitchen staff and other front-of-house team members
• Maintain positive and professional relationships with coworkers and management
• Participate in team meetings, tastings, and training sessions
• Contribute to a collaborative service culture focused on hospitality excellence
• Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with fine dining operations

Quality Professional Development
• Uphold Shokunin's reputation for quality service and innovation
• Ensure all guest interactions meet our nationally recognized standards
• Maintain consistency in service delivery and presentation
• Support special events and seasonal menu launches with expertise and enthusiasm

What You Bring
• Excellent multitasking skills with ability to manage multiple tables and priorities simultaneously
• Previous serving experience in fine dining, upscale, or high-volume restaurant environments (preferred)
• Ability to adapt and adjust to high-stress, high-intensity service situations with composure
• Familiarity with industry best practices and fine dining service standards
• Valid ProServe certification — mandatory requirement
• Understanding of wine and sake service is an asset — extensive training provided
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Availability to work flexible schedule including late nights, weekends, and public holidays
• Strong work ethic and dedication to continuous learning
• Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with fine dining standards
