We are looking for our next reception and dental assisting superstars.
Deakin Dental Care is a privately owned, general dental practice. We offer all facets of general dentistry including treatment under IV sedation and General Anaesthetic, implants and surgical procedures. The practice is newly fitted out and has grown to be a busy, 4-chair practice.
About the roles:
We are currently recruiting for a full-time receptionist and a part-time/casual dental assistant (4-days a week).
For reception, we are looking for the following:
Dental experience preferred, however the right attitude and ability to multitask, learn quickly and manage conflicting priorities, is a bonus
Mature attitude and willingness to manage the day-to-day running of the reception area
Be able to hit the ground running and thrive in a busy reception area
Be the face of the business and welcome patients with a smile
Provide administrative support for multiple clinicians and the Practice Manager
Be able to liaise professionally with patients face-to-face, over the phone and via email
Take ownership of tasks and see things through to completion
Support the Principal Dentist and Practice Manager
Be able to forward plan and independently seek solutions to any issues that may arise
Have an understanding of how to book appointments, including being able to triage emergencies
Take and pass on messages accurately and in a timely manner
Run daily morning meetings with the team
Process payments through HICAPS accurately
For the Dental Assistant role, we are looking for the following:
Ideally, 2 years experience but we are happy to train the right person
Be willing to learn and get in there to assist with new or unfamiliar procedures
Be willing to assist in IV sedations and with patients under general anaesthetic in a hospital setting
Have an understanding of instruments, procedures and the flow of a dental surgery
Be able to assist different dentists and adapt to different ways of working
Work within a team environment
Have an understanding of infection control guidelines and be able to apply these to daily tasks
Good time management skills
For both roles we are looking for someone with exceptional personal presentation and hygiene, friendly, able to work well within a team environment, takes direction and constructive criticism well, resilient, able to learn quickly and work within a fast paced, busy environment.
Our practice hours are 8-5pm Monday - Thursday, 8-4.30pm Fridays and Saturday 8.30-1pm - an ability to work across these hours is a must, we do have some flexibility and are willing to work with the right person's availability.
