The Accountant is responsible for performing general accounting and related duties for the organization. This includes preparing monthly financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, coding invoices, setting up new accounts, and managing the accounts payable process. The role requires strong analytical skills to understand and analyze cost drivers and provide regular reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliation.
• Participate in the month, quarter, and year-end close process activities.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve reconciling items for inventory and intercompany accounts.
• Prepare and distribute weekly reporting and scorecards with proper analysis.
• Manages accounts payable functions, including processing invoices, verifying financial data, and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare financial statements.
• Provide monthly budget to actuals to department owners with analysis.
• Work with the controller to ensure accurate and timely preparation of all reporting (internal reporting, external reporting, external audits, etc.), including appropriate narratives.
• Understand the Quote to Cash process and how all facets affect the financial statements.
Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 1-2 years of AP/AR experience in ERP system, or equivalent experience required.
• Excellent Excel skills with the ability to summarize large amounts of data into explainable formats for all levels of the organization.
