Job Description
We are seeking a Tyre Section Engineer to manage tyre operations for HEMM (Heavy Earth Moving Machinery) across mining sites. The role is responsible for tyre condition monitoring, tyre pressure management, TKPH optimization, tyre life improvement, retrading, inventory control and site coordination to maximize tyre performance, minimize downtime, and optimize operating costs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor tyre wear, tread depth, damage and overall tyre condition of HEMM equipment.
• Conduct regular tyre pressure inspections and ensure correct inflation as per OEM recommendations.
• Monitor and optimize TKPH (Ton-Kilometre Per Hour) to ensure tyres operate within their designed capacity.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly tyre performance, consumption and life reports.
• Identify premature tyre failures and perform root cause analysis with corrective and preventive actions.
• Improve tyre life through proper rotation, matching, alignment, balancing and maintenance practices.
• Increase tyre retrading utilization to maximize tyre life and reduce operating costs.
• Inspect haul roads and site operating conditions and coordinate with Mining, Operations and Maintenance departments to improve tyre performance.
• Maintain tyre inventory, casing records, retrading status, scrap disposal and stock reconciliation.
• Coordinate with tyre OEMs and vendors for inspections, warranty claims, technical support, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with OEM guidelines, safety standards and company procedures.
• Train site tyre teams on tyre inspection, pressure maintenance, safe handling, reporting and best maintenance practices.
Qualifications:
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automobile Engineering or any Graduates having experience in tyre management.
• 4–7 years of experience in tyre management, OTR tyre maintenance or HEMM maintenance in the mining industry.
• Good knowledge of OTR tyres, tyre pressure management systems, TKPH, tyre maintenance and retrading practices.
• Familiarity with OEM standards, tyre performance analysis and mining operations.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools.
